As a New Zealander, I grew up on Mānuka honey - from the spoon when I was sick, on toast for breakfast, in tea at night and smeared on scrapes and burns. I was excited to find a local company who is sourcing genuinely high quality mānuka and who is committed to maintaining both the taste and the quality.

The hybrid with avocado flowers was an interesting mix! My husband felt almost instant relief on his sore throat by drinking it in lemon ginger tea, and I enjoyed it spread on buttered toast. The distinct earthy taste of mānuka was there and the slight graininess reminded me I was doing something good for my health by eating it. 100% would get this again!

First of all we love the packaging the little gold bee on the jar and the honey stick are a lovely touch.
The honey is tasty and flavoursome, it is sweet tasting with a thick texture mixed with bits of crystal it is just perfect.
If you like honey then you will love this product, I would definitely recommend this honey from The Happy Bee Co-op

The HappyBee Manuka Honey is one of a kind. It is an exquisite combination of raw and sweet. You can taste how authentic and pure the mix of ingredients are, and you instantly feel how good the benefits are for you. I take a spoon whenever I have a cold and shortly after the soothing effects kick-in. I have also used it to make a lip scrub, and the yummy sensation left on your lips shortly after is simply divine. The rawness of the avocado, together with the sweetness of the Manuka flower that are beautiful curated in this pot of honey, is a purchase you will be not regret. I would recommend anyone to go get yourself one now.

I recently tried The happy bee honey, and it was a true delight! The amber-colored liquid exuded a rich aroma that promised a flavorful experience. What stood out was its purity—this honey felt like a direct gift from nature, untouched and unadulterated, I’m normally not a honey lover but this was different in a very good way! :)

One of our customers recently staged a Honey Showdown with four contenders lined up…

🐻 The Classic – Looked rich in the jar but turned out the lightest and thinnest. It ran quickly down the knife. Sweet, pure honey, but no special character.

🌼 The Wild One – Clearly a step up. More texture and mouthfeel, with a bright sweetness and smooth herbal finish.

🍊 The Citrus Charmer – A surprise! It opened with a citrusy aromatic, then revealed lavender, with a slight hint of thyme in a slow, steady unveiling.

🐝 The Hero: Happy Bee Honey – “Not worth the comparison… it’s a different beast.” Dark and complex, with a smooth yet viscous texture. Caramel and oak emerge first, followed by rosemary, mint, anise, eucalyptus—and even the restorative essence of Pei Pa Koa. “It really needs to be tasted side by side to see how distinctive it is—like a vintage perfume, fine wine, and elixir.”
