The Perfect Harmony: Exploring the Exquisite Combination of Avocado & Mānuka Honey

The Perfect Harmony: Exploring the Exquisite Combination of Avocado & Mānuka Honey

First things first, what is Multi-floral honey?

Multi-floral honey is the combination of nectars collected and produced by bees from various flowers in the vicinity of their beehive. This results in honey with a more diverse flavor profile and a unique blend of nutrients and other beneficial compounds.

Your usual go-to is likely a mono-floral honey, sourced predominantly from the nectar of a single flower species. And most of these honey variations offer a sweet and satisfactory flavor profile but can lack specific benefits. Happy Bee honey is a unique blend of nectar from the Avocado and Mānuka flowers. By combining the distinct attributes of these two floral sources, our honey is a holistic blend, resembling nature's honey multivitamin.

Our honey bees’ unique combination of nectars adds an element of exclusivity and distinctiveness to the flavor and nutritional profile of multi-floral honey. This rarity makes it a sought-after delicacy for honey enthusiasts who appreciate the complexity and diversity that it offers.

The Happy Bee is the way to go and here is why!

Unique Blend of Flavors and Nutrients: Unlike regular honey, which can be a blend of nectars (Multi-floral) or just one nectar (Mono-floral) our Happy Bee honey is a thoughtfully crafted mixture of nectar from the Avocado blossom and Mānuka flowers. This combination offers a unique blend of flavors that tantalizes the taste buds. Moreover, the inclusion of Avocado blossom nectar brings additional benefits to the table. Avocado honey is known to be high in polyphenols, potent antioxidants that contribute to overall health and well-being. It’s also what gives our honey such rich dark colors. This nutrient-rich blend creates a harmonious profile that sets our honey apart from other varieties.

Amplified Nutritional Content: While regular honey offers natural sweetness and some nutritional value, our multi-floral Avocado and Mānuka honey take it one step further. Avocado honey, with its rich minerals and antioxidants, elevates the nutritional composition of our honey blend. These additional nutrients contribute to overall health and well-being, supporting essential bodily functions and promoting vitality. With our honey, you not only experience delightful flavor but also enjoy an increased nutritional boost.

Enhanced Therapeutic Properties: Regular mono-floral honey, including Mānuka honey, possesses remarkable antibacterial and antiviral properties. However, the combination of Avocado blossom and Mānuka flowers in our Happy Bee honey enhances these therapeutic qualities. The unique compounds found in Mānuka flowers, along with the minerals and polyphenols from Avocado blossom, create a synergistic effect, resulting in a honey blend with amplified antibacterial, antiviral, and other beneficial properties. This makes our honey an excellent choice for immune support and combating infections.

Rare: The combination of avocado and Mānuka nectar is a rare occurrence. It requires specific environmental conditions, timing, and the presence of both types of flowers within the bees' foraging range. And the availability of avocado and Mānuka flowers nearby is relatively uncommon!

Therefore, the circumstances where bees can access both types of flowers for nectar collection are limited. This limitation is due to the flowering seasons of Avocado and Mānuka often do not overlap. Avocado trees typically bloom during spring, while Mānuka flowers for only 2-6 weeks a year between December and January. Each Mānuka flower will only bloom for five days. This further reduces the opportunities for bees to gather nectar from both sources simultaneously.

“I am rare, and there is value in all rarity; therefore, I am valuable”

Our pure and unprocessed honey is sourced from New Zealand and produced organically using two of the most exceptional and scarce floral varieties found worldwide: Avocado blossom and Mānuka flower. This entirely natural product embodies purity, evident in the microscopic crystals that naturally form around pollen particles. At The Happy Bee Co-op, we are committed to preserving the innate goodness and magic of our honey. That is why we refrain from applying heat during processing, as it can compromise the honey's valuable antimicrobial properties.

It wouldn’t be fair to write about our honey without mentioning honey bees’ extraordinary significance. With tireless dedication, they embark upon a majestic mission, tirelessly traversing meadows and gardens, weaving a tapestry of life and sweetness. These mesmerizing creatures, adorned with vibrant stripes, are more than mere pollinators; they are the architects of our bountiful harvests and the custodians of delicate ecosystems. Their intricate dances and harmonious collaboration inspire awe, as they transform nectar into liquid gold—the golden elixir we know and love.

With deep appreciation, we acknowledge the remarkable beauty and unwavering effort of honey bees, whose existence enriches our world with an abundance of flavors and the gift of sustenance. Thank you happy bees!
